We are the family of four, Sam Päivi, Will and Walter. We are serving the Finnish Pentecostal Church in Sudbury, Ontario. Sam is a pastor in the Finnish Pentecostal Church. Päivi is helping him by doing ladies ministries, TV and radio programs, book keeping, and leading the Boys’ and Girls’ Club etc. etc. Will and Walter are studying at the Western Pentecostal Bible College doing their BA programs out there.

We come from Oulu, Finland. In 1989 we left that beautiful country and went down to Tanzania, East Africa,...to another beautiful country. There we served as missionaries for four years. We lived in Tarime, North Tanzania.  Our responsibility was to train preschool teachers of the local teachers. Later on, in 1991 we moved to Mwanza, and started  an AIDS orphans project.  As the project coordinators, we worked there for two years.  Mwanza is a city of some  700,000 people, located on the east shore of the Victoria Lake.

In September, 1993 we moved up to Vancouver,  B.C, Canada. We started Bible schools studies at the Canadian Baptist Seminary. Päivi was doing her Master of Religious Education, and Sam Master of Divinity. We got our degrees in 1997. Then God led us again to another good place. This time also to a cool ...Cool literally, place...South Porcupine, which is about 650 km north from Toronto. There we served a small Finnish Pentecostal Church for two years. Both of the Boys were with us the first year, but Will moved back to B.C. next year. In August 1999  we continued our way to Sudbury, where we are ministering in the Finnish Pentecostal Church.

Sudbury is a city of some 100,000 people with approximately  8-10% of the population being Finns. The climate and living conditions here are just like in the Middle  Finland with the snowy winters and even – 25 Celsius temperatures. We like it here, so far!

The boys had three weeks Christmas break,

which again went very fast by. Will is doing

his third year in WPBC and Walter is in the

same place, doing his second year. Both are heading for the BA, Will's major  in missions, Walter's  in music. We were lucky to get the

boys home during the Christmas time, and

unlucky to send them back to BC again.

However, we are very thankful for the Lord that

He has been so faithful for us and we know He

will be the same wherever we are. The most important thing is that we could be in the

middle of His perfect plan and do whatever is

His will for our lives. Our relatives are all in

Finland. More about the boys on their own

pages.
