Backpack Inventory

In addition to the Vital Equipment, Survival Kit, and First Aid Kit, here are some items you may want to include in your pack. Since you want to keep your gear dry, line your pack with a large waterproof bag, and enclose individual items in ziploc bags. Organize your pack according to how and when you will need to access the items, eg: don't bury your topo map or you will have to pull out half your gear just to get at it. Lightweight but strong items are the best. Experience will tell you how much total weight you can carry, a good average range to aim for is 25 to 30 lbs. If I've left anything critical out, email me.
