House  Acheta domesticus At or beyond top of range. Clear chirp.  3, 2, 2 grouped pulses in 2 seconds.  4.8 kHz
Fall Field  Gryllus pennsylvanicus Clear chirp. 4, 4, 4 grouped pulses in 2 seconds. 4.7 kHz
Spring Field  Gryllus veletis At top of range. Chirp. Sound nearly identical to Fall Field Cricket, but pulses slightly higher pitched and faster. 4.9 kHz
Allard’s Ground  Allonemobius allardi Near top of range. Continous pulses (15/second). 7.7 kHz
Striped Ground  Allonemobius fasciatus Reedy sounding chirp.  Grouped pulses, 2-3/second, each pulse contains 10 parts. 7.4 kHz
Gray Ground  Allonemobius griseus Continous chirping sounding. Continous pulses one loud, other soft and broad. 7.9 kHz
Carolina Ground  Eunemobius carolinus Buzz.  Continous pulses, about 50 - 70/s. 6.1 kHz
Sphagnum Ground  Neonemobius palustris Rising buzz.  Fuzzy noise. 8.6 kHz
Snowy Tree  Oecanthus fultoni Just beyond top of range. Fast trilly chirps. Grouped pulses 3/second, each pulse contains eight parts. 2.9 kHz 
Black-horned Tree  Oecanthus nigricornis Inside but no nearby sightings. Buzz. Continous pulses, about 40/second.  4.2 kHz
Four-spotted Tree  Oecanthus quadripunctatus At top of range Reedy continous buzz? Continous pulse, about 40/second (less than last species). 4.2 kHz

Short-winged Meadow Katydid Conocephalus brevipennis Buzz with monotone intro (including faint short ticks). Peak 13 kHz.
Slender Meadow Katydid Conocephalus fasciatus Pulsing intro, then pulsing buzz. Peak 17 kHz
Prairie Meadow Katydid Conocephalus saltans Just beyond top of range. Grouped buzzes, then continous buzz. Peak 14 kHz
Gladiator Meadow Katydid Orchelimum gladiator Six second buzz.  Start as wavering buzzes then ends as ticks. Peak 11 kHz
Common Meadow Katydid Orchelimum vulgare At top of range. Rising buzz over 2.5 seconds, ticks at start. Peak 10 kHz
Sword-bearing Conehead Neoconocephalus ensiger Chewing like pulses. Triangluar pulses in waveform. Peak 12 kHz
Curve-tailed Bush Katydid Scudderia curvicauda Two rising pulse series over 8 seconds, second louder than first, with silence in between. Peak 8-9 kHz
Fork-tailed Bush Katydid Scudderia furcata Quick sharp rising pulses followed by many seconds of silence.  Peak 11 kHz
