The Friends of Laurier Woods was established in 1989 as a non-profit, charitable organization committed to preserving the ecology and cultural integrity of the woods, enabling it to last as a legacy for future generations.  In 2004 the Board of Directors approved a Management Plan for the site identifying six key objectives:
  • Conservation - including the Parks Creek Provincially Significant Wetland, wildlife and the overall ecology
  • Land Use Planning - working with the city and province to ensure that the lands remain protected
  • Tourism/Recreation/Education - promoting opportunities through trail development, exhibits and publication
  • Scientific Research - to understand the ecosystem and the impacts of the surrounding land uses.
The Friends of Laurier Woods wishes to welcome and thank you for your support!   If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, helping with trail development/maintenance, purchasing a $20.00 annual membership or making a donation towards the protection and enhancement of Laurier Woods, please do no hesitate in contacting us today!
