ABOUT ARMY CADETS The Royal Canadian Army Cadets is the oldest youth program in Canada, and actually predates Confederation. The Cadet program is run jointly by the Department of National Defence and the civilian body, The Army Cadet League of Canada. Officers are commissioned members of the Canadian Armed Forces, who are specialized in the running of youth development programs. There are several thousand Army Cadets across Canada, running in hundreds of cities and towns. Programming is provided FREE, as are uniforms and equipment, though it is expected that cadets return the equipment should they leave.

We have won several awards, including Strathcona Shields for being the top Army Cadet Corps in Northern Ontario, and FIVE Col. John H.C. Clarry Trophies for being the top army cadet corps in all of Ontario.
ABOUT OUR SPONSORS Although much of our funding comes from the Federal Government, we rely heavily on donations from the public, organizations and businesses. Fortunately, we are Sponsored by the Sudbury Police Association, who provide us with monetary and personnel support. The Police Association realize the value and significance of our organization and have been staunch supporters. For this, we proudly display the name of the Police Association on our uniforms.
ABOUT OUR SUPPORT COMMITTEE Set up as an arms-length entity, our Support Committee work diligently to raise funds, and maintain financial regulation over the Corps’ funds. Operated under the authority of the Army Cadet League, Ontario, this committee is made up of alumni, parents, and members of the community who work diligently to support our Corps’ busy schedule. For more information about the Support Committee, please email them at sponsor2912@gmail.com.
OUR AFFILIATED REGIMENT We are affiliated to the local Primary Reserve regiment: The Second Battalion, The Irish Regiment of Canada. The Irish provide us with training facilities, allow our cadets to participate in some training activities, and allow both our officers and cadets to wear their ceremonial uniforms. This unique opportunity to be affiliated to a proud Regiment is something that our cadets take very seriously: it allows us to stand out in a crowd and be proud of our local heritage and history.
